At Family Centered Support Services, we provide a range of services to children, young people, and families, including respite care, in-home support, and residential out-of-home care. About the Role
This position is offered as a full-time fixed-term contract for an initial period of three (3) months, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational requirements and program needs*
Family Centered Support Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Program Coordinator to lead our innovative farm, equine-assisted and rural-based therapeutic programs. Reporting to the Practice Lead, you will oversee program delivery, staff development, animal welfare and farm operations while creating engaging experiences that support positive outcomes for children and young people in out-of-home care.
What You'll Be Doing

Lead and coordinate therapeutic farm, animal and equine-assisted programs.

Supervise and support Farm Assistants and onsite staff.

Oversee animal welfare, farm operations and facility safety.

Develop and evaluate farm-based, equine-assisted and camp programs.

Manage bookings, schedules, resources and operational budgets.

Ensure compliance with WHS, risk management and organisational requirements.

Deliver equine-assisted learning activities and therapeutic engagement opportunities.

Provide reporting and feedback on program participation and outcomes.
Essential Requirements

Extensive experience with horses, farm animals and equine-assisted learning programs

Knowledge of animal welfare standards and farm operations

Experience coordinating camps, outdoor education or therapeutic programs (highly regarded)

Equine therapy qualifications, recognised training or relevant registration

Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or Community Services equivalent (highly regarded)

Current Australian Driver's Licence (must be Open or P2)

Approved Licensed Care Service (LSC) check through the department, or ability to obtain one

Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain one

Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them

Flexibility to meet the organisation's needs

Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet specific timeframes and targets

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation, organisation, and reporting

Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite

Provide two recent professional references
The successful applicant may be required to undertake occasional local travel to support program delivery and operational requirements.
