About Recolour Windows WA
Recolour Windows WA is a specialist provider of aluminium window and door recolouring and refinishing services throughout Western Australia. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Spraypainter to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects, applying high-quality industrial coatings to aluminium windows, doors, frames, screens, and associated architectural products.
The Industrial Spraypainter is responsible for preparing, coating, refinishing, and restoring aluminium window and door frames and associated architectural products using industrial spray-painting equipment and coating systems. The role involves surface preparation, colour matching, spray application, equipment operation, quality inspection, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
· Inspect aluminium windows, doors, frames, screens, and related products, and prepare surrounding work areas and surfaces for refinishing by cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and removing contaminants, oxidation, and existing coatings.
· Mix paints, primers, lacquers, and protective coatings in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
· Set up and operate industrial spray-painting equipment, including spray guns, hoses, pumps, pressure pots, and associated coating systems.
· Adjust spray equipment settings, including pressure, fluid flow, and spray patterns, to achieve specified coating thickness, finish quality, and coverage.
· Apply primers, base coats, top coats, clear finishes, and protective coatings to aluminium windows, doors, frames, and associated architectural products using industrial spray-painting techniques.
· Position and secure items for coating application and monitor spray booths, ventilation systems, extraction equipment, drying processes, and curing operations.
· Inspect completed work for colour consistency, coating adhesion, finish quality, and compliance with company and customer specifications, and carry out touch-up or refinishing work where required.
· Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot spray-painting equipment, including spray guns, nozzles, hoses, pumps, and related tools to ensure operational efficiency.
· Maintain records of coatings, materials, colours, and completed work, and report equipment faults, maintenance requirements, or production issues as required.
· Comply with workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures, including the safe handling, storage, and disposal of paints, solvents, coatings, and hazardous substances, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant spray-painting experience in an industrial, automotive, manufacturing, architectural coating, or related environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating industrial spray-painting equipment and applying coatings to metal or manufactured products.
- Experience in surface preparation, masking, sanding, cleaning, and refinishing processes.
- Strong understanding of paint systems, coating applications, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks across various job sites.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, hardworking, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and own vehicle - As the role involves travelling to different job locations on a regular basis, a current driver’s licence and own vehicle is essential.
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel to various work locations.
Desirable Requirements
- Certificate II or III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or a related qualification.
- Experience with aluminium window and door refinishing.
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Forklift Licence.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with colour matching and specialised industrial coating systems.
