Job Description
Clinical Nurse Acute Pain Service – Maternity Leave Cover and Casual Pool positions.
The Opportunity
As a Clinical Nurse within our Acute Pain Service, you will play a key role in delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care to patients requiring acute and complex pain management.
In this role, you will:

Coordinate and participate in Acute Pain Service clinical rounds.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised pain management plans.

Provide expert clinical advice, education, and support to nursing and medical staff in the assessment and management of acute pain.

Ability to manage and initiate research, participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and service development activities to support best practice and improved patient outcomes.

Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and confident clinician with strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. You will demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to build positive relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
You will be able to work autonomously while recognising and maintaining your professional scope of practice and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment where collaboration, flexibility and high-quality patient care are paramount.

Essential Criteria:

Current registration with AHPRA.

Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience in an acute surgical setting.

Demonstrated experience and confidence working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Demonstrated ability to provide education, clinical guidance, and support to nursing and medical staff during pain service rounds.

Current competency and demonstrated experience in the management of Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and epidural analgesia.

Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous quality improvement.
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $56.40 - 59.93 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (WA Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4)
