The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse Consultants (Child Protection Liaison Officer) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Utilise independent professional judgement in applying Queensland Health policy and legislative requirements
Contribute to the efficient and effective functioning of the Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) team
Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and skills in child, youth and adolescent health in relation to child protection
Support in aiding child protection clinics and forensic assessments
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Permanent full time and Permanent part time (multiple positions, hours negotiable)
Base salary ranging from $139,951 - $151,949 per annum or $70.58 - $76.63 per hour
About Us
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) role functions as a Child Protection Liaison Officer within the Child Protection Team which includes medical officers, social workers and administration offers to provide a multidisciplinary approach and response to complex child protection concerns / cases.
The Child Protection Team is located within Gold Coast University Hospital and works collaboratively with healthcare and non-healthcare partners to safeguard children in our care.
