Italiano’s Fresh Produce is looking for an energetic and reliable Fruit & Veg Assistant to join our family run business in the heart of Brunswick.
You’ll help keep our produce department fresh and full while providing friendly service to our local customers.
THE ROLE
- Stocking and maintaining fruit and vegetable displays
- Checking produce quality and removing damaged stock
- Rotating stock to maintain freshness and reduce waste
- Receiving, unpacking and storing deliveries
- Weighing, packing and preparing produce for sale
- Keeping displays, cool rooms and work areas clean and organised
- Assisting customers with product enquiries and recommendations
- Updating displays throughout the day as stock sells
- Helping with general store duties when required
- Following food handling and workplace safety procedures
ABOUT YOU
- Friendly, energetic and ready for hands on work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well in a team
- Takes pride in presentation and pays attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast paced retail environment
- Able to safely perform the physical duties of the role, including lifting produce boxes and being on your feet
- Available to work 10 - 20 hours a week
- Previous fruit and vegetable or retail experience is preferred but not essential, we’re happy to train the right person
