About the role
As a Legal Support Officer within the Professional Conduct Branch, you will work closely with lawyers and stakeholders, providing high-quality legal and administrative support across disciplinary matters, litigation and committee processes.
Key Responsibilities:
In this varied and rewarding role, you will

Provide legal and administrative support to lawyers managing disciplinary proceedings and regulatory litigation.

Manage incoming correspondence, enquiries and documentation, ensuring urgent matters are identified and escalated appropriately.

Conduct legal and policy research and assist with evidence management.

Prepare legal correspondence, briefs, hearing materials, reports and other documentation.

Coordinate responses to subpoenas and information requests.

Support the Professional Conduct Committee through agenda preparation, minute taking, reporting and meeting administration.

Liaise professionally with internal stakeholders, external legal providers, courts, regulatory bodies and government agencies.

Maintain accurate records, precedents and file management systems.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of branch processes, systems and procedures.
About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented legal support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage competing priorities.

Experience in legal administration, paralegal support or a regulatory environment.

Strong legal research, evidence management and document preparation skills.

Demonstrated ability to draft professional correspondence, reports and supporting documentation.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

A high level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.

Experience supporting litigation, disciplinary proceedings or regulatory processes will be highly regarded.

KSC 1 Demonstrated skills in conducting legal and policy research and managing evidence, including the ability to analyse information, maintain accurate records, and prepare briefs and supporting documentation for disciplinary panels and tribunal matters
KSC 3 Demonstrated experience drafting correspondence, reports, briefing materials and administrative documentation, ensuring good attention to detail.
KSC 5 Well-developed organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing tasks, meet deadlines and deliver agreed outcomes.
