Disability Support Worker
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and energetic Disability Support Worker to support a child NDIS participant. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys working with children, has experience supporting young people with behaviours of concern, and can build a positive and supportive relationship.
About the Role
You will provide one-on-one support to help the participant access the community, engage in activities they enjoy, develop social skills, build confidence, and work towards their personal goals.
The successful worker will be patient, encouraging, and able to keep the participant engaged through fun, meaningful, and structured activities.
Key Responsibilities
Community Access & Transport
- Transport the participant to appointments, activities, and community outings using your own reliable and insured vehicle.
- Support participation in recreational, social, and community-based activities.
- Encourage safe and positive community engagement.
Capacity Building & Social Support
- Encourage participation in the participant's interests, hobbies, and strengths.
- Introduce and support engagement in new activities and experiences.
- Promote independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Help establish positive routines and maintain engagement throughout shifts.
- Use a calm, consistent, and supportive approach to manage behaviours and encourage positive outcomes.
About You

- Able to build a strong, positive rapport with children and young people.
- Confident working independently while following support plans and family guidance.
- Flexible, creative, and able to engage a young person through activities and conversation.
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Essential Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Valid Victorian Driver License.
- Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
- Working with Children Check.
