The opportunity
KINETIQA Specialist Medical Centre is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to establish and lead the Occupational Therapy service within a growing multidisciplinary centre in Rockdale. Our focus is complex injury management, functional and vocational assessment, insurance rehabilitation and high-quality independent reporting.
This role centres on higher-value assessment and report work across CTP, workers compensation, personal injury and medico-legal referrals, with clinical treatment alongside. You will build your own specialised caseload and work with chiropractic, exercise physiology and physiotherapy colleagues in a modern, professionally presented centre close to public transport.
What you will do
- Functional capacity, activities of daily living, work tolerance and job-demand assessments across clinic, home, workplace and community settings
- Equipment, assistive technology, home modification, domestic assistance and attendant care needs assessments
- Independent functional assessments, clinical file reviews and medico-legal reports within Occupational Therapy scope
- Clear, objective and defensible reports delivered within agreed timeframes
- CTP and workers compensation treatment and rehabilitation
- Liaison with solicitors, insurers, rehabilitation providers, employers and treating practitioners
- Shaping the systems, standards and referral base of a new Occupational Therapy service
What you will need
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- A valid ABN with professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Working With Children Check and National Police Check where required
- Strong clinical reasoning and written communication, with the ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines
Experience valued
- CTP, workers compensation, personal injury or medico-legal assessment
- Functional capacity evaluation, attendant care or domestic assistance assessment
- Occupational rehabilitation, workplace assessment, home modification or equipment prescription
Occupational Therapists with strong general experience who wish to develop an insurance and medico-legal caseload are encouraged to apply.
