The opportunity
As a Civil Contracts Officer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and protecting Council's Civil Infrastructure, including roads, drainage and footpaths. Working closely with contractors, residents and internal stakeholders, you'll oversee contracts, inspections, permits and compliance activities to ensure high quality services are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with Council standards.
What you’ll do
- Administer and monitor civil maintenance contracts and contractor performance.
- Conduct inspections of roads, drainage, footpaths and municipal infrastructure.
- Assess permits, bonds and applications, ensuring compliance with Council requirements.
- Investigate compliance matters and support enforcement activities where required.
- Respond to customer enquiries, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records
What you need to succeed
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Civil Construction, Infrastructure, Compliance, Local Government, or related field.
- Experience in contract administration, civil maintenance, compliance or local government operations.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, local laws, Council policies and standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and record or asset management systems

Pre-Employment Requirements
Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check and a Pre-Employment Medical Check. Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
