Enerven delivers electrical infrastructure and telecommunications solutions that are vital to connecting communities across Australia. Our design, construction and maintenance services help keep electricity flowing to homes and businesses, while supporting the transition to renewable energy and a more resilient grid.
Our 2027 Apprenticeship Program is your opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised qualification and build a long-term career in the high voltage industry. You don't need previous trade or electrical experience to get started. In fact, high voltage may be a career you've never considered before. If you're motivated to learn, we'll provide the training, experience and support to help you succeed.
Here’s what’s on offer:
About the opportunities
We’re offering multiple, 4-year apprenticeships across two exciting career pathways within the high voltage electrical infrastructure industry:
- Substation Electrical Apprentice
Substations are critical sites where electricity is controlled, switched and transformed as it moves through the power network. As a Substation Electrical Apprentice, you’ll work alongside experienced electricians across substation construction and maintenance, renewable infrastructure, control systems installation, and the manufacture, testing and commissioning of high voltage electrical equipment and systems.
This isn’t about installing power points or wiring houses. You’ll work with large-scale equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear and control systems, developing specialist skills that help keep Australia’s electricity network safe, reliable and ready for the future.
You’ll complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, giving you a nationally recognised electrical qualification and the foundation for a career in the high voltage industry.
- Powerline Transmission Apprentice
Transmission lines are the large overhead powerlines that carry electricity over long distances between power stations, substations, cities and renewable energy projects. As a Powerline Transmission Apprentice, you’ll work as part of a skilled field crew to build, maintain and upgrade transmission towers and overhead powerlines across South Australia.
The Transmission towers range from approx. 20 - 120 meters high – so being comfortable working at heights is ESSENTIAL!
You’ll complete a Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead, gaining a nationally recognised qualification and specialist skills in high voltage transmission line construction and maintenance.
Where you'll work
Whichever pathway you choose, your home base will be our Direk depot, with most of your work taking place on project sites across South Australia.
About you
You won't be expected to know it all from day one. We'll provide the training and support to help you develop your skills. We're looking for people who are motivated to learn, committed to safety and excited to build a long-term career.
