Dental Assistants (Outreach and Sterilisation opportunities)

We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality oral health services and help improve the health and wellbeing of our community. Working alongside a supportive team of Dental Clinicians, you'll play an important role in ensuring clients receive safe, efficient and person-centred care.

About the roles
As a Dental Assistant, you'll provide both clinical and administrative support to Dental Clinicians across our Oral Health program. Working in modern community dental clinics and outreach settings, you'll help deliver quality oral health services to people of all ages while supporting a positive client experience.
We have the following roles available:
- A part-time Grade 2 role (4 days per week) in our Smile Squad outreach program
- A full-time Grade 2 role in our Central Sterilisation Service Department.
- A part-time Grade 3 role, (2 days per week) in our Central Sterilisation Service. Department (a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting - Sterilisation is required for this role).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing chairside assistance during a range of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical and preventative treatments.
- Preparing treatment rooms, instruments and materials for clinical use.
- Supporting infection prevention and control practices and maintaining compliance with sterilisation standards.
- Processing and maintaining reusable medical devices through the Central Sterilisation Service Department (CSSD).
- Assisting with dental record management, radiographs and administrative tasks.
- Participating in community outreach and oral health promotion activities.
- Maintaining stock levels and ensuring equipment is safe, functional and ready for use.
About you
You'll be an experienced and organised Dental Assistant who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is committed to providing high-quality client care.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in dental assisting.
- Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.
- A commitment to infection prevention, client confidentiality and safe work practices.
- The ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
- Sound computer skills and confidence using dental software systems.
