We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our Sydney or Melbourne office for a 12-month contract and be supported by our People and Development team nationally. As a highly motivated HR professional you will be a self-starter who will be capable of providing a hands-on approach to your client groups.
To be successful and thrive in this role you will have the following skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of previous experience within Human Resources and minimum of 1 year in a HR Advisor role.
- Previous experience working in a legal or professional services environment
- Demonstrated stakeholder management, influencing, and accountability skills - especially with senior leaders
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality advice and guidance on people plans, engagement and initiatives
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Fair Work Act, Awards and contractual requirements, and Workplace Health and Safety legislation
- Ability to build rapport and foster trusted relationships within the P&D team and across the firm
- Takes initiative and ownership for role deliverables and projects
- Works well under pressure, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple and competing priorities and to ensure service delivery
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, management, business or equivalent preferred
Your role
You will play an exciting and integral role partnering with our people leaders and staff to drive high performance in alignment with the firm’s vision and strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering people initiatives and managing operations across the full employee life cycle for your client groups, both locally and nationally. This includes:
- Coaching partners and managers to build leadership capability, strengthen team performance and embed a high-performance culture aligned to the firm’s objectives
- Contributes to and supports broader People and Development cyclical initiatives including capability development programs, reward and recognition activities, policy development and updates, and cross-functional projects
- Partners with client groups through active participation in team meetings, providing information including workforce data and clear communication on people priorities and performance outcomes and planned initiatives
- Managing employee relations and performance management issues applying sound judgement and risk awareness while supporting leaders to achieve fair, timely and sustainable outcomes
- Drives Performance and talent management practices
- Ensures compliance with WHS/OH&S obligations, embedding safe work practices
- Providing responsive advice to employee queries and requests
