The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Admin Officer Support (Public Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Be Responsible for reception duties including but not limited to, inbound call-handling for Public Health Unit and assisting customers at reception
Undertake filing and other records management functions including capturing, registering, classifying, filing and indexing and processing the disposal and destruction of all non-clinical records
Assist with fleet vehicle management of community vehicles
Undertake logging tickets via Maintenance and Services to repair building and/or equipment and maintaining register
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

About Us
The aim of the Gold Coast Public Health Unit (GCPHU) and the public health program it administers, is to manage risks to the health and wellbeing of the community by promoting and protecting health and preventing disease. The Unit provides a person and population focused response to communicable and non-communicable diseases, and environmental health hazards, by undertaking risk assessments, delivering immunisation services, health surveillance, prevention programs, public health incident response and monitoring and enforcing public health legislation.
The GCPHU team comprises specialists with expertise in many areas including communicable disease control, immunisation, health surveillance, epidemiology, environmental health, research, water quality, risk assessment, food safety standards and public health regulation. GCPHU employs a multi-disciplinary team of staff including public health physicians, public health nurses, environmental health officers, health promotion officers, epidemiologists, data officers and business services staff delivering the integrated public health program.
