What you'll be doing
As a Registered Midwife, you will play a vital role in providing safe, holistic and woman-centred care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. You will work within a multidisciplinary model of care to support women in achieving their individual birth goals while ensuring the best possible outcomes for mothers and babies.
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal midwifery care within your scope of practice
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to support positive birthing experiences and optimal outcomes
- Coordinate care and facilitate appropriate consultation and referrals to meet the holistic needs of women and families
- Collaborate effectively with women, families, midwives, medical staff and allied health professionals
- Practice in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards, professional codes and evidence-based care principles

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the Registered Midwife National Competency Standards, Code of Ethics for Midwives, and Code of Professional Conduct for Midwives (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia).
2. Recent midwifery experience including, antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care and lactation support and newborn care.
3. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means; and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
4. An understanding of woman centred and new born care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality midwifery care and .
6. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload and deliver care with integrity and accountability
