About your opportunity
As the Senior Medical Dietitian you will work within a collaborative, teams-based dietetics service model, to deliver high-quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services across Townsville University Hospital's medical wards.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced clinical care, act as a senior reference point for complex cases, advocate for nutrition and dietetics within the service group and contribute to service development, quality improvement, and research. The role also includes supervising HP3 dietitians, students, and clinical assistants, strengthening team capability and supporting a culture of continuous learning. With a strong focus on person-centred care, you will use your clinical expertise, communication, and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact on service delivery and patient outcomes.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a temporary part-time role, up to 21/01/2027 (38 hours per fortnight), with a possibility of an extension not exceeding a total of 12 months.

Salary range: $64.64 to $69.55 p.h. (HP4)
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
Possession of a tertiary degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognised tertiary institution and the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) credential and eligibility for membership with the Dietitians Association of Australia is a requirement for this role.
This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
NDIS and Blue Card clearance are a mandatory requirement of this role.
The position may be required to work across any of the sites / facilities within the Townsville Hospital & Health service based on current service needs and priorities.
The position contributes to a seven-day service including the provision of weekend services.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
