An exciting opportunity for an experienced emergency nurse with a passion for education to make a meaningful difference in a rural healthcare setting.
About the role
Walcha MPS is a small rural facility with a busy Emergency Department and a close-knit nursing and medical team. With a workforce spanning a broad range of experience and skills, this role provides an opportunity to build staff confidence, strengthen emergency nursing capability and support high-quality patient care.
You will be supported by the Health Service Manager, our onsite Aged Care Clinical Nurse Educator, as well as the close network of other Clinical Nurse Educators in the New England North West region.
What you'll be doing
As Clinical Nurse Educator, you will provide practical, hands-on education and clinical support to nursing staff, focusing on emergency nursing competencies, identified learning needs, education and simulation.
You will:

Develop and maintain emergency nursing skills and competencies, supporting staff with clinical assessment and decision-making.

Mentor and support nurses to achieve and maintain standards of practice within their scope of role and model of care.

Facilitate clinical teaching and learning using adult learning principles and contemporary professional practice knowledge.

Coordinate orientation, education, supervision and ongoing support for new graduates, undergraduate nurses and school-based trainees.

Collaborate with managers, educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants and clinical staff to plan education that meets local needs.

Support staff to develop emergency nursing skills, clinical assessment and decision-making.
About you
You will be an experienced Registered Nurse with strong emergency or acute nursing skills, sound clinical judgement and a genuine passion for developing others.
If you are someone who is credentialed as a DETECT and DETECT Junior trainer, as well as in Triage and ALS, or willing to obtain these credentials, we would love to hear from you.
