Our Woodie Woodie operation is a key asset, and we are seeking a motivated IT Help Desk Technician to join our Mine Systems team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to gain hands-on experience across infrastructure, networking, end-user support and mining technology systems within a dynamic remote mining environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Systems Coordinator, the IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for providing Level 1 and Level 2 IT support across the Woodie Woodie operation. You will be the first point of contact for end users, ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, networks, communications equipment and associated technology services.
Working closely with site personnel and the wider IT team, you will troubleshoot technical issues, support project work, maintain documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of site technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for computer systems, networks and IT services.
Deliver end-user support via phone, email, remote access tools and face-to-face interactions.
Install, configure and maintain computers, mobile devices, peripherals and associated equipment.
Support and maintain wireless networking infrastructure.
Log, manage and resolve helpdesk requests in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate system documentation and contribute to the IT knowledge base.
Assist with server and network administration activities.
Support IT infrastructure upgrades, installations and project work.
Ensure IT hardware and equipment are maintained to operational standards.
Work collaboratively with site-based and remote IT personnel to share knowledge and workload.
Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards in all work areas.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience providing Level 1 and/or Level 2 IT support.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across desktop, network and hardware environments.
5+ years working with Microsoft products (Windows Server, workstation, Office 365, AD, Azure, Entra)
Experience with computer hardware, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
Exposure to networking concepts, wireless technologies and server administration.
Strong documentation and record-keeping capabilities.
A proactive, team-oriented approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
C Class Driver's License
Desirable
CCNA Certification or above.
Open Cabling certification.
3+ years working with cisco networking equipment.
Experience in mining, resources, industrial or remote-site environments.
