The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Technology/Metallurgy Manager this role is focused on the upgrading of our multi-metals demonstration plant and achieving stable process control and operation. You will provide technical guidance and leadership to the Plant Metallurgists and operational leaders by monitoring plant performance, driving initiatives to improve recovery, throughput, and cost efficiency. The role needs a leader and team player who will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure processing performance aligns with production targets and business objectives
This role suits someone who can step beyond monitoring performance and instead identify opportunities, implement solutions and drive measurable improvements across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead metallurgical performance monitoring and optimisation of the processing plant.
Provide guidance and expertise to the development of processing strategies to deal with waste product streams.
Analyse plant data to identify opportunities to improve recovery, throughput, and efficiency
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to plant metallurgists and processing teams
Develop and implement metallurgical improvement initiatives
Oversee plant surveys, sampling programs, and metallurgical test work
Ensure troubleshooting of plant performance issues and implement corrective actions
Work closely with operations to optimise plant control and process stability
Ensure metallurgical accounting and reconciliation processes are timely, accurate and reliable
Contribute to production planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
Prepare and review metallurgical reports and performance summaries that are timely and accurate
About You
Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering.
Extensive experience in hydro and pyro metallurgy.
Specific experience in the hydrometallurgy of multi-metals.
Specific experience in the hydrometallurgy of arsenic.
Demonstrated experience in plant optimisation and metallurgical performance improvement
Experience leading metallurgical teams or providing technical leadership
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Experience with metallurgical accounting and reporting systems
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
