As the Joinery Factory Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing floor, ensuring jobs move efficiently through production while maintaining high workmanship standards and accountability across all departments.
You will coordinate production staff, monitor workflow, enforce quality control systems, and ensure manufacturing targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Supervise daily workshop operations.
Coordinate workflow across:
Cutting
CNC
Edge banding
Assembly
Hardware fit-off
Packing & dispatch
Monitor production schedules and deadlines
Ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification.
Team Leadership
Lead and supervise factory staff.
Allocate tasks and manage workloads.
Train team members on systems and procedures
Maintain accountability and productivity standards.
Conduct toolbox talks and daily production meetings.
Quality Control
Implement and maintain QC procedures.
Ensure all products meet company standards.
Identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
Minimize rework and production errors.
Conduct final inspections before dispatch.
Workflow & Systems
Track job progress through all production stages
Ensure drawings and revisions are correctly followed.
Maintain traceability of materials and components
Improve workshop systems and operational efficiency.
Report production updates to management
Safety & Maintenance
Enforce workplace health and safety procedures.
Maintain clean and organized work areas.
Coordinate machine maintenance and servicing
Ensure safe operation of factory equipment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Previous experience in a joinery or cabinetmaking supervisory role
Strong understanding of kitchen and wardrobe manufacturing
Ability to read and interpret production drawings.
Experience managing workshop teams.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
High attention to detail and quality
Preferred
Experience with CNC production environments
Knowledge of production scheduling systems
Experience with Lean manufacturing or workflow improvement
Forklift license
Cabinetmaking/joinery trade qualification
