About us:
Maternity Services at Rockhampton Hospital stands as the primary birthing hub for Central Queensland, welcoming roughly 1,400 new babies each year. Our comprehensive service includes a 15-bed Antenatal/Postnatal ward, a Maternity Assessment Unit, a 5-bed Birth Suite, and a Level 4 Special Care Nursery. Our connected teams focus on delivering amazing care and fostering healthy communities through strong local partnerships.
About the role:
Provide comprehensive, woman-centred midwifery care across the inpatient antenatal and postnatal ward environments.
Assess, plan, and implement individualised care delivery in direct partnership with women and their families.
Collaborate within an active interdisciplinary team to coordinate services and ensure high safety and quality standards.
Support clinical governance by adhering to and reviewing established guidelines, protocols, and database measures.
Provide guidance, preceptorship, and mentoring to junior staff, enrolled nurses, and midwifery students.
About you:
You hold current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
You demonstrate solid midwifery knowledge and clinical skills to confidently assess, plan, and evaluate patient care.
You exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills that support effective teamwork, delegation, and clinical supervision.
You commit to evidence-based practice and actively participate in continuous clinical safety and quality initiatives.
You display the intrinsic motivation to continually progress your competencies along the continuum toward advanced practice.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $127,861 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $44.06 - $56.51 p.h.
12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading
