Hedgehog Soft Serve is looking for two new team members to join our team.
We have weekday and weekend positions available, with regular trading, markets, festivals and private events.
This role is typically 3–4 days per week, with longer trading days rather than short shifts.
Approximately 24-48 hours per week . There is also opportunity for more hours with potential for a full-time position for the right person.
What we offer:
- $35/hour + performance bonuses.
- Ongoing position. We’re hoping to find someone looking for a long-term role rather than a temporary job.
- Full training provided – no experience required but preferred
- Paid training.
- Work independently without a manager looking over your shoulder.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and serving soft serve ice cream
- Driving and operating the commercial ice cream van (falls under normal license)
- Preparing ingredients before trading
- Cleaning, sanitising and maintaining the commercial soft serve machine
- Setting up and packing down for trading
- Processing EFTPOS and cash payments
- Monitoring stock levels and restocking supplies.
- Taking photos and videos for social media during quieter hours
- Working independently and solving minor issues when required.
Requirements:
- Current driver’s licence (essential)
- Confident driving a large van
- Great customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently once trained
- Confidence with basic mechanical tasks and problem-solving is a bonus
