Based at our Kurri Kurri facility, Alfabs Mining Equipment designs, manufactures, repairs and supports specialised underground mining equipment, including QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move and Material Handling Equipment used across Australia's mining industry.
We're looking for an experienced Diesel Fitter / Field Service Technician who enjoys getting on the tools, solving problems and working across both our modern workshop and customer mine sites.
This role offers excellent variety—spend time rebuilding and maintaining equipment in the workshop while also supporting customers in the field with breakdowns, servicing and commissioning work.

The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment
-
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic faults
-
Performing breakdown and scheduled maintenance at customer sites

Assisting with equipment builds, upgrades and commissioning

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
-
Working safely while delivering high-quality workmanship

Building strong relationships with customers and site personnel
About You
You will ideally have:
- Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar

Experience working on underground mining or heavy mobile equipment

Strong fault-finding and hydraulic diagnostic skills

DES experience and ticket (highly regarded)

Current Driver Licence

Ability to work independently and within a team

Strong commitment to safety and quality

Willingness to travel to customer sites and work overtime when required
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Hydraulics

Forklift Licence

Current Coal Board Medical
