The Opportunity
The Deputy Director, Access Design and Outcomes is responsible for supporting the design, development and delivery of the Victorian Access Regime (VAR), ensuring its integrity, intent and objectives are achieved through considered, fit-for-purpose policy and program design. Positioned at the centre of Victoria's energy transition, the role provides strategic leadership to drive the shift from the current open access framework to a coordinated, merit-based access regime that enables renewable energy generation and storage projects while delivering benefits for hosting communities, Traditional Owners and energy consumers. As an experienced senior specialist, this role leads complex reform initiatives, works collaboratively across VicGrid, government and industry, and builds strong stakeholder support to achieve successful VAR outcomes.
What you will deliver
- ; Translate policy decisions and positions into integrated, coherent and consistent design and drafting of products and instruments, including handbooks and guidelines, ensuring the integrity of the VAR is upheld.
- ; Lead engagement with key stakeholders including renewable energy developers, project financiers, energy market bodies and other Government agencies to build consensus and support for the VAR.
- ; Effectively manage external advisors, consultants and contractors to ensure relevant scope, deliverables, quality and timeframes are achieved.
- ; Support senior executive engagement, as the VAR subject matter expert with industry, market participants, regulators, AEMO, government and community stakeholders to inform, develop and deliver access regime outcomes.
