Kwikfloor is a leading commercial flooring contractor expanding its operations in Western Australia. We are seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and qualified Commercial Floor Finisher to join our growing team. You will be responsible for preparing subfloors and installing a wide variety of high-quality commercial vinyl, carpet tiles, and specialised coating systems across diverse project sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Subfloor Preparation: Inspecting, cleaning, repairing, diamond grinding, moisture barrier, waterproofing systems, and applying self-levelling compounds to prepare diverse concrete and timber subfloor surfaces.
- Resilient Flooring Installation: Measuring, cutting, laying, and installing commercial vinyl sheets, including hot vinyl welding, vertical coving, and luxury vinyl planks (LVP).
- Textile Flooring Installation: Laying and installing commercial carpet tiles, broadloom carpets, and directional underlays to precise floor plan layouts.
- Specialised Coatings: Safely mixing, applying, and finishing heavy-duty commercial epoxy coatings, polyurethane resin screeds, and anti-slip flooring systems.
- Finishing & Compliance: Performing professional architectural joint sealing, installing transition strips/skirtings, and ensuring all works strictly adhere to Australian Standards.
Required Skills and Experience
- Relevant trade qualification in Flooring Technology (Certificate III) or equivalent verified hands-on commercial flooring experience.
- Proven experience working with commercial vinyl sheet (including heat welding), carpet tiles, and epoxy resin applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent work ethic, reliable transport, a current driver's licence, and a Construction Induction White Card.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively as part of a busy trade team.
