About the role
Ukiyo Matcha is a specialty matcha-first café kiosk opening in the heart of the CBD soon. We're building a small, hands-on team that cares about quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality.
You'll be the person who makes Ukiyo Matcha run day to day — opening and closing the kiosk, leading service during the rush, and making sure every cup meets our standard. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants ownership, not just a shift.
What you'll do
- Open/close the kiosk (depend on your roster) and manage daily operations end-to-end
- Prepare matcha/hojicha drinks and coffee to our recipe and presentation standard
- Lead service during peak periods, keeping speed and quality consistent
- Manage stock counts, supplier orders, and wastage tracking
- Own front-of-house presentation and cleanliness to food safety standard
- Handle daily reconciliation (Square POS) and report to the owner
- Be the first point of contact for customer feedback and on-the-spot problem solving
- Support deliveries.
What we're looking for
- Prior experience in a café or specialty beverage environment required
- Reliable availability, including some weekend/peak-period shifts
- Comfortable running a shift solo and making decisions under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and consistency, especially with a hand-made product
- Basic food safety knowledge
- Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in a small space run well
- Friendly, warm communication style — this is a customer-facing brand
- Fluent English
