Customea is an Australian-owned joinery and manufacturing business specialising in custom cabinet doors, panels, and flat-pack cabinetry components. We help homeowners, designers, and renovators across Australia upgrade standard flat-pack kitchens, wardrobes, and storage into premium, custom spaces.
Recognised as a leader in flat-pack customisation, we operate both a modern manufacturing facility in Mortdale and a flagship showroom in Tempe. As production continues to grow, we are looking to expand our factory team with reliable, hands-on people who take pride in quality work.
About the role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Factory General Hand to assist with packaging, quality checking, and general workshop operations within our joinery factory.
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on preparing high-quality cabinet doors, panels, drawers, and related products for dispatch, while also supporting general factory operations and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
This role would suit someone with previous factory, warehouse, joinery, or manufacturing experience who enjoys practical work and being part of a small, growing team.
Key responsibilities
- Safely package cabinet doors, panels, and related products for shipping
- Build and prepare crates for transport and freight dispatch
- Check orders and inspect products for quality before packaging
- Sort and organise finished components ready for collection or delivery
- Assist with general workshop duties including cleaning and organisation
- Support inventory organisation and material handling
- Assist with basic machine maintenance and factory upkeep
- Follow workplace safety procedures and work instructions
- You will also be trained on our shaker door assembly method
Skills & experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, workshop, or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow processes
- Physically capable of manual handling and lifting tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
Highly regarded (but not essential)
- Experience in joinery, cabinet making, or woodworking environments
- Experience handling MDF, laminated boards, or sheet materials
- Experience with packaging, freight preparation, or dispatch

Pay: $32.00 – $37.00 per hour
