About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Principal – Operating Model Design & Delivery to lead the design and delivery of enterprise operating model components across major transformation initiatives – shaping how the organisation works to deliver its strategy.
This role translates strategic intent and business architecture into practical organisational design—ensuring structures, roles, decision rights and capabilities enable effective delivery of services and long-term value. You’ll work across senior stakeholders, programs and HR/people teams to ensure operating model changes are well designed, clearly understood, and successfully embedded.

What the role will involve:

Lead operating model design streams across enterprise transformation programs
-
Develop organisational design solutions including structures, roles, decision rights and governance
- Translate business architecture blueprints into practical implementation-ready designs
-
Design transition roadmaps and implementation work packages to support delivery and adoption
-
Use workforce and organisational data to inform evidence-based design decisions
-
Apply and continuously improve enterprise operating model design frameworks, tools and standards Assess and articulate workforce impacts, capability shifts, and transition requirements Facilitate co-design workshops with senior leaders and subject matter experts

Provide expert advice on organisational design, spans/layers, and capability impacts

Ensure alignment between operating model design, change management and implementation activities

Ensure operating model outputs align to enterprise standards, maintaining consistency and transparency across initiatives

Maintain alignment and traceability across strategy, design and delivery activities
-
Produce clear decision papers, options analysis and visual design outputs for executive decision-making

Support handover to People and Safety Group for implementation and consultation activities
Key skills and experience:
-
Degree qualification in Business or a related discipline
-
Substantial experience leading the design and delivery of operating models across complex organisations
-
Substantial experience in operating model design across People, Process, Information and Technology (PPIT)

Considerable experience providing strategic HR partnership, coaching and advice at a senior level in large/complex multi-disciplined commercial organisation(s) to build capability and enable behavioural and culture change

Experience leading design workshops and facilitating executive-level decisions

Strong analytical thinking and evidence-based decision-making capability

Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across senior levels
