About the Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking products to the highest quality standards while ensuring food safety, consistency and production targets are achieved.
The QBO Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food products in accordance with company recipes, food safety standards and production schedules. Working as part of a busy production kitchen, the role ensures products are prepared consistently, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
The Cook will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support team members and help deliver an exceptional product to customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking food in line with approved recipes and production schedules.
- Ensuring every product meets our quality and presentation standards.
- Accurately weighing, measuring and portioning ingredients.
- Monitoring cooking times, temperatures and product quality.
- Following HACCP and food safety procedures at all times.
- Completing production and food safety records accurately.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
- Operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Working closely with the wider production team to meet daily production targets.
- Contributing ideas to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.
About You
- Experience in food preparation
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery (Desired but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality
- Effective communicator and team player
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transport to and from Tanunda
- Flexible availability between 6:00am and 11:00pm
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
