What’s the job?
The Ellucian Banner Tech Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of Ellucian Banner ERP solutions across the organisation. This role combines hands on technical expertise with cloud service models, including Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and the integration with enterprise education systems such as Ellucian Banner.
Operating within Torrens University landscape, the role will drive Banner solution architecture and guide development practices across Banner and integrated platforms, including Salesforce CRM systems, learning management systems (Canvas), and middleware technologies such as Informatica.
Principal accountabilities include (but are not limited to):
Provide technical leadership and governance for the Ellucian Banner ecosystem, establishing and enforcing development standards, coding practices, architectural principles, and quality assurance processes across Banner applications, Oracle databases, integrations, and supporting technologies.
Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Banner ERP solutions across Student, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and related modules, ensuring solutions align with institutional objectives, regulatory requirements, and business processes.
Act as the senior technical authority for Banner architecture, designing scalable and sustainable solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and support integration with platforms including CRM, LMS, identity management, reporting, data warehouse, and middleware solutions.
Design, develop, and oversee Banner integrations using Banner APIs, Ethos Integration, Application Navigator, Oracle PL/SQL, web services, ETL frameworks, and middleware platforms, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-quality data exchange across enterprise systems.
Provide advanced technical expertise in Oracle database administration, Banner customisation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, serving as the highest escalation point for complex production issues and critical incidents.
8+ years of experience supporting, developing, and administering Ellucian Banner ERP within a higher education environment.
Demonstrated experience in a Banner Technical Lead, Senior Banner Developer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent technical leadership role.
Extensive experience with Banner architecture, Oracle databases, SQL, PL/SQL, Banner Extensibility, Application Navigator, and Job Submission processes.
Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting Banner integrations using Ethos, Integration Hub, APIs, web services, middleware platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience delivering integrations between Banner and enterprise applications including LMS, CRM, identity management, finance, HR, reporting, and data warehouse platforms
This is a full-time permanent role with hybrid flexibility and is based at our Surry Hills Campus in Sydney. Candidates must have full, ongoing working rights in Australia. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
