The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Underground Technical Services Superintendent to join the team at our Duketon underground operations.
As a key leadership role, the Underground Technical Services Superintendent is responsible for the development, maintenance, execution and support of our underground mine planning activities (3 months to life of mine) at the Duketon Gold project. Reporting to the Underground Alliance Manager, you will also help lead a team of technical professionals to develop and optimise our underground mining performance with a focus on safety, while also improving efficiencies.
This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster (ex-Perth).
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Coaching, mentoring, and leading a technical team
Ensure short term mine plans are produced on time and align with long term mine plans (LOM)
Monitoring progress against plan and reporting significant deviations to key stakeholders
Assist with the establishment and management of Regis operating standards and systems required to support LOM planning and associated technical support functions
Assist and support the auditing and verification of operational activity to ensure technical standards, systems and considerations are applied in a manner to support LOM requirements
Assist with the establishment and presentation of alternative LOM development strategies, priorities, programmes and budgets to maximise value from operations
Monitor through appropriately developed reporting systems and recommend, plan and implement future optimisation strategies
Reporting of costs and mine physicals
Input into key mine projects including technology implementation and business improvement
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or the equivalent
Demonstrated experience of mine planning and production activities
A proven track record of leading teams responsible for delivering operational improvements to a producing mine
Advanced experience of mine planning and scheduling software, Deswik preferred
Effective communicator orally and written, and to all levels of stakeholders
