Onyx Worx Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and dependable Construction Leading Hand to oversee a small team while working alongside them on the tools.
This is not a role for someone who wants to stand back and give instructions. You will be expected to lead from the front, keep the team productive and complete physically demanding work across multiple residential construction sites.
The Role
You will receive daily instructions directly from the company director and be responsible for:
- Leading and working alongside other team members
- Communicating job requirements clearly to the team
- Keeping jobs running efficiently and on schedule
- Providing regular updates throughout the day
- Completing approximately 6–8 jobs or site visits per day
- Taking before-and-after photos of every job
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Looking after the company vehicle, tools and equipment
- Occasionally collecting workers from an agreed meeting point
Scope of Work
Our work is varied and includes:
- General construction labouring
- Residential site clean-ups
- Building-material and debris removal
- Rubbish collection and tip runs
- Manual handling and material relocation
- Weeding and landscape preparation
- Floor scraping and general site preparation
- Assisting with basic maintenance and construction tasks
This is a physically demanding position with regular lifting, loading and outdoor work.

Requirements
- Current ABN
- Current White Card
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Suitable construction clothing and PPE
- Good physical fitness
- Previous construction or leading-hand experience
- Ability to work approximately 8–10 hours per day

Payment Terms
This is an ABN subcontractor position. Invoices must be submitted by Friday for payment the following Thursday.
