About the Role
We're looking for Depot Hand to join our Rowville team, reporting directly to the site team leader, you will be responsible for serving the customers in the cash for containers depot.

The Role:
The responsibilities of this position include:
The Forklift Operator/ Depot hand is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading of recyclable materials, containers and equipment within the Envirobank depot.
The role requires a strong focus on safety, productivity, housekeeping and following depot procedures while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the recycling facility.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a forklift in accordance with site procedures and relevant safety requirements.
* Move recyclable materials and containers throughout the depot efficiently.
* Correctly position and store materials in designated areas.
* Ensure materials are handled carefully to minimise damage, contamination and product loss.
* Conduct daily forklift pre-start inspections and report any faults or maintenance issues immediately.
* Maintain clear and safe traffic and pedestrian areas within the depot.
* Follow all manual handling, PPE, traffic management and workplace health and safety procedures.
* Provide excellent customer service and cash handling for our customers
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
* Report any hazards, incidents, near misses or equipment issues promptly.
* Work collaboratively with depot hands, Team Leaders, drivers and management to achieve daily operational targets.
Safety & Compliance
* Hold a current and appropriate forklift licence.
* Follow all Envirobank safety procedures and site rules.
* Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Complete required pre-start checks and operational documentation.
* Operate equipment only within the limits of their training and authorisation.
* Maintain awareness of pedestrians, vehicles and other mobile plant operating within the depot.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Current forklift licence.
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to follow procedures and instructions and pay out customers accordinly.
* Reliable, punctual and physically capable of performing depot duties.
Desirable:
* Experience working within a recycling or Container Deposit Scheme environment.
* Experience operating forklifts around busy depots or confined areas.
* Knowledge of workplace safety and traffic management procedures.
