About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Biomedical Engineer to take overall responsibility for the management of clinical equipment for patient care across Murrumbidgee Local Health District, both directly and through the supervision of a team of Biomedical Engineers.
In this critical role, you will:

Provide electrical safety and performance verification testing of biomedical equipment in line with AS/NZS 3551:2012.

Oversee planned and corrective maintenance, commissioning, calibration and repair of medical devices and associated systems.

Lead and supervise a team of Biomedical Engineers, ensuring duty requirements and standards are met.

Liaise with Departments and Facility Managers to arrange maintenance works and provide biomedical engineering advice.

Maintain accurate equipment and service records using the Asset and Facility Management Online (AFMO) system.

Manage contractors and suppliers, recall management, and participate in an on-call service roster as required.

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Biomedical Engineering, or other qualifications or experience considered appropriate by the MLHD Manager of Clinical Technology.

Minimum 4 years demonstrated successful experience as a biomedical technician or similar role in a hospital or health sector environment.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills in general electronics and medical equipment applications.

Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Demonstrated computer skills, including word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database tools.

Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as part of a team.

A current Class C Driver's Licence and willingness to travel across MLHD.
