Following the successful opening of our Cairns office in January 2026, we are continuing to expand our presence in Far North Queensland and are seeking talented professionals to support our growing client base.
As an Accountant within our Business Services and Tax Advisory team, you will play a key role in helping clients meet their compliance obligations while providing practical advice to support their financial and business goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and self-managed superannuation funds
- Preparation and review of BAS, IAS, FBT and payroll tax returns
- Assisting clients with tax planning strategies to optimise outcomes and minimise taxation risks
- Identifying opportunities for business improvement, restructuring, succession planning and wealth transition strategies
- Assisting with complex tax and accounting advisory projects
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients through proactive and professional communication
- Working directly with clients to understand their objectives and provide practical solutions
- Contributing to internal process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and client outcomes
- Participating in ongoing professional development to remain current with taxation legislation, accounting standards and industry developments
This is a full-time permanent position based in our Cairns office. Regular office attendance is required to support client engagement, collaboration and professional development opportunities.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and aligned with current market conditions.

About You
You are a motivated and client-focused accounting professional who enjoys developing practical solutions for businesses. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering high-quality work while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you will be based in Cairns and will ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or Finance
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently studying towards completion)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in business services and tax advisory within a public practice environment
- Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A proactive attitude and commitment to continuous professional development
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- A strong focus on delivering exceptional service and maintaining client relationships
