About the Role
As Construction Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple fire protection projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with internal teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, you will provide technical leadership, drive project performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of our project delivery systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery
- Plan, schedule and coordinate projects to achieve successful outcomes on time and within budget.
- Lead the delivery of multiple construction projects while maintaining quality, safety and client satisfaction.
- Develop project schedules, scopes and work plans while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Monitor project performance, milestones, productivity and project trends.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the design process, supporting value engineering and practical project solutions.
- Ensure project requirements are captured and key deliverables are achieved.
- Manage project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Manage project variations and ensure all additional works are appropriately documented and recovered.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasting and cost control.
- Monitor work in progress, project costs and profitability.
- Develop and improve project control processes, procedures and reporting tools.
- Prepare regular progress reports, financial updates and performance metrics for Senior Management.
- Identify estimating discrepancies or unforeseen issues that may impact project outcomes.
Leadership & People
- Lead, mentor and support project teams to achieve high performance.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
- Coach and develop team members through ongoing training and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable and solutions-focused team culture.
- Support workforce planning, onboarding and performance management.
Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Demonstrate visible leadership in workplace health and safety.
- Promote and maintain Firesafe's strong HSEQ culture across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and operational performance.
- Ensure incidents, hazards and corrective actions are managed effectively and in a timely manner.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience working within a construction environment, including experience in project, earned value (EVM) and change management processes
- Developed experience using industry standard cost and scheduling software packages
- Ability to work in a team environment
- High level communication, influencing and negotiation skills
