Our Sydney / Wagga team is growing and we're looking for a motivated Graduate Environmental Consultant to join us and hit the ground running.
The Opportunity
As a Graduate Environmental Consultant at Fyfe, you will play an active role in supporting the delivery of a diverse range of environmental planning and approvals projects. Working closely with experienced consultants, you will contribute across all stages of the project lifecycle, from early feasibility assessments through to approvals and compliance.
This role offers a genuine opportunity to build your technical skills, deepen your understanding of environmental planning frameworks, and contribute to meaningful infrastructure, energy, and development projects across Australia.
What You'll Do

Assist with the preparation of environmental impact assessments, including Review of Environmental Factors (REFs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS)

Support environmental approvals processes under relevant state and federal legislation

Undertake background research, literature reviews GIS mapping, and spatial analysis

Assist with drafting high-quality technical reports and planning documentation

Assist with planning pathway analysis, constraints mapping, and due diligence assessments

Participate in fieldwork and site visits, including environmental surveys, data collection, and site inspections

Support stakeholder, client, and government agency consultation processes

Coordinate inputs, respond to information requests, and contribute to clear environmental advice
What We're Looking For

Recently completed or near-completed degree in Environmental Planning, Town Planning, Urban & Regional Planning, or a related discipline

A genuine interest in environmental planning, environmental management, impact assessment, and development approvals

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured reports

Good research and analytical ability with attention to detail

Willingness to learn NSW and federal planning legislation and environmental assessment frameworks

Collaborative team player who is reliable, curious, and eager to grow

Relevant internship, university project, or work experience in planning, consulting, or government is desirable but not essential

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS experience (e.g. ArcGIS or QGIS) is an advantage
