Rugby World Cup Australia is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Sydney team and play a key role in building the workforce that will deliver Rugby World Cup 2027. Reporting to the Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, this is a hands-on, operational recruitment role responsible for delivering end-to-end hiring across a diverse portfolio of positions. With a significant recruitment agenda and firm delivery deadlines, you'll be at the centre of attracting, engaging and securing the talent needed to bring one of the world's largest sporting events to life.
We're seeking a confident and proactive recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. You'll partner closely with hiring managers, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of recruitment outcomes while delivering an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience. You will bring a positive attitude, a people-first approach and strong relationship-building skills, with the drive, accountability and resilience to deliver results. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment across a diverse portfolio of roles, from briefing and sourcing through to offer and onboarding.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and deliver recruitment outcomes against key hiring timelines.
- Proactively source, engage and attract high-quality talent through LinkedIn, referrals, talent pools and other sourcing channels.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience through professional, timely and engaging communication.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, providing recruitment expertise, market insights and hiring recommendations.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines to support current and future workforce requirements.
- Support employer branding initiatives and promote Rugby World Cup Australia's employee value proposition.
- Ensure recruitment activities are compliant, maintaining accurate records and data within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance recruitment processes, candidate experience and operational effectiveness.
- Play an active role in a collaborative, high-performing team, taking ownership and contributing to the successful delivery of Rugby World Cup 2027 workforce objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–3+ years' experience delivering end-to-end recruitment in an in-house or agency environment.
- Proven experience operating in a high-volume, fast-paced recruitment environment, managing multiple vacancies and competing deadlines.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence hiring outcomes.
- Hands-on, proactive and delivery-focused, with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and urgency.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a candidate and customer-focused approach.
- Collaborative team player who brings positive energy and a people-first mindset to everything they do.
- Experience using ATS and HR systems, such as SuccessFactors or similar.
- Sound understanding of recruitment compliance, employment legislation and work rights requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Flexible and willing to travel and work outside standard business hours when required.
Desirable:
- Experience in sport, events, or project-based environments
- Exposure to high-volume or seasonal recruitment campaigns
