We are a leading hospitality provider located along the iconic Great Northern Highway in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
We are currently seeking motivated and experienced Chef to join our team.
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and develop menus, including à la carte, function, and seasonal/dietary menus, in consultation with management.
- Estimate food and labour costs, control kitchen budgets, and order food supplies within approved limits.
- Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen staff across all sections during preparation and service.
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, including signature, banquet, and special function items.
- Monitor the quality, portioning, and presentation of dishes at every stage of preparation and service.
- Develop and standardise recipes, portion sizes, and plating to ensure consistency and control food cost.
- Train, mentor, and roster kitchen staff, and assist with recruitment and induction.
- Explain and enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in line with the Food Standards Code and HACCP.
- Manage stock receipt, storage, rotation, and preservation to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
The suitable applicants should:
- Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (SIT40521) or higher; OR have at least three years of relevant post-trade experience as a Chef.
- Demonstrate strong skills in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing.
- Have sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and dietary requirements.
- Have proven leadership, training, and communication skills.
- Be able to work under pressure during peak periods and across multiple kitchen sections.
The employer will offer:
- A full-time contract for at least 3 years, extendable for further term.
- An annual salary of $70,000 - $75,000 (negotiable) + superannuation will be offered to the successful candidates with relevant qualification and experience.
