About the role
As the Pharmacy Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical purchasing and inventory management within the Pharmacy Department. You will work closely with pharmacy staff, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure pharmaceutical products are sourced, received, managed, and distributed effectively.
Your day will look a little like this:
Manage the procurement and supply of pharmaceuticals to support operational requirements across Cabrini Health.
Monitor inventory levels, backorders, credits, and urgent medication requests to ensure continuity of supply.
Maintain purchasing systems, process invoices and documentation, and ensure accurate purchasing records.
Coordinate stock receipt, replenishment, stock rotation, expiry date management, stocktakes, and cycle counts.
Participate in product recalls, stock quarantine processes, and source alternative or specialised medications as required.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff, suppliers, and key stakeholders while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience within a healthcare organisation or hospital environment.
Experience in pharmaceutical purchasing, product management/maintenance, and stock control activities.
Experience participating in stocktakes and inventory management processes.
Experience with iPharmacy preferable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to prioritise competing demands and work efficiently in a busy environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
