Introduction:
We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team at HMPS Propac in Adelaide Airport. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering professional to contribute to innovative automation and materials handling projects in a permanent, full-time position.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple bespoke customer projects from planning and design through to manufacturing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and final project handover. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget while building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
This role requires a proactive and organised individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes ownership of project outcomes.
Description:
Your duties will include:
- Managing all aspects of engineering projects to achieve agreed technical, quality, safety, schedule and financial objectives.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules using Microsoft Project to ensure key milestones are achieved.
- Coordinating engineering, manufacturing, procurement, service personnel, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identifying, assessing and managing project risks, scope changes and budgets while driving projects through to successful completion.
- Leading Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), ensuring all testing is completed, documented and customer requirements are met prior to shipment.
- Leading Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and customer handover, coordinating the required technical resources to achieve successful project completion.
- Driving the timely resolution of defects, punch list items and outstanding actions to achieve efficient project close-out.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders, providing regular project updates and managing expectations.
- Ensuring all project documentation, including technical records, FAT/SAT documentation, manuals and handover documentation, is completed accurately and issued on time.
- Supporting continuous improvement by participating in project reviews and lessons learned.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience managing engineering or manufacturing projects (automation or materials handling experience highly regarded).
- Strong project planning and organisational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required for commissioning and project support.
