Leeton Shire Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Labourer within our Open Space and Recreation Team, playing a key role in maintaining and enhancing the beauty of our community’s parks, reserves, and streetscapes.
The primary purpose:
Under the direction of the Supervisor & Coordinator, Open Space & Recreation, perform daily works pertaining to all parks, gardens and horticultural activity and associated works.
Duties: Specific duties are detailed in the Operations section of the position description, including but not limited to:
General labouring including concrete labouring
Watering of Council street trees
Mow parks, gardens and reserves as directed by the supervisor
Operate small plant, items of equipment and vehicles as directed by the supervisor
Qualifications/Licences/Experience:
1. At least six (6) months relevant work experience as stated in the Selection Criteria on the Position Description (attached)
2. Possess an ability and aptitude to undertake various training and refresher courses and to obtain relevant certificates and licences as required.
3. Possess and maintain a current Class C driving licence.
This position is Full Time– 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
Salary: Grade 2 in Council’s salary system ($27.28 to $30.55 per hour) depending upon qualifications and experience, plus 12% Superannuation.
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
Prior to commencement the successful applicant will be required to undergo and successfully pass a Functional Assessment which includes an alcohol and other drug screening and a hearing test.
