The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Dispatch Officer to join our team in Mackay.
Reporting to the Workshop Foreman, this role is responsible for coordinating the dispatch and receipt of goods, equipment and materials to support workshop and project operations. You will play a key role in ensuring freight movements, deliveries and inventory processes are completed accurately, efficiently and safely.
This position is ideally suited to a motivated and organised individual with dispatch, stores, logistics or warehousing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
As the Dispatch Officer, your responsibilities will include:

Receiving, unloading and inspecting incoming goods and completing relevant documentation.

Coordinating the dispatch of structural, mechanical and pulley equipment.

Booking, scheduling and managing freight movements to customer sites.

Coordinating local freight collections and deliveries with suppliers and transport providers

Preparing delivery dockets, dispatch documentation and associated paperwork.

Organising cranes and lifting equipment for the unloading of large equipment.

Packing orders and preparing goods for transport.

Maintaining dispatch and invoicing registers.
-
Ensuring components are correctly identified and allocated to the appropriate job numbers.

Working closely with workshop supervisors and operational teams to meet project requirements.

Assisting with stocktakes and inventory management activities.
-
Operating forklifts safely and efficiently.
-
Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and WHS requirements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Previous experience in dispatch, stores, warehousing, logistics or materials handling.

School Certificate, trade qualification or equivalent (preferred).

A current Forklift Licence.

Strong organisational and time management skills.
-
High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Sound computer skills, including experience with ERP systems such as Pronto (highly regarded).

The ability to work effectively within a team environment.

A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
