About the role
Join Macmahon's Graduate Mechanical Engineer Program and gain practical experience across our heavy mining equipment maintenance operations throughout Western Australia.
This structured two-year graduate program is designed to provide hands-on operational exposure, technical development, and mentoring from experienced maintenance and engineering professionals. Throughout the program, you'll develop a strong understanding of mobile maintenance operations while building the technical, analytical and commercial skills required for a long-term career in the mining industry.
You will gain exposure across a range of maintenance functions, working with industry-leading heavy mining equipment and contributing to projects that support operational performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and performance of heavy mining equipment across site operations
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting, defect elimination and root cause analysis activities
- Contribute to reliability and continuous improvement initiatives supporting equipment performance and availability
- Gain exposure to maintenance planning, scheduling and asset management processes
- Assist with budgeting, estimation, tendering and operational reporting activities
- Analyse equipment and maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Build strong working relationships with operational, maintenance and technical teams
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Recent graduate or final-year student eligible to commence full-time employment
- Full Australian working rights (Citizenship or Permanent Residency)
- Willingness to work FIFO or DIDO rosters and travel across Western Australian operations
- Interest in heavy mobile equipment, maintenance engineering and equipment reliability
- Interest in understanding equipment behaviour, failure modes and equipment performance analysis
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to continuous development
- Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening, as well as criminal history and qualification checks
