About the Role
We are seeking caring, reliable, and motivated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. You will work closely with NDIS participants of all ages, supporting them to achieve their goals, develop independence, and actively participate in their community.
Every participant is unique, and we value support workers who are flexible, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support in accordance with each participant's NDIS goals and support plan.
- Assist with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
- Support participants with meal planning, preparation, and household tasks.
- Assist with medication in accordance with organisational policies and training.
- Support community access, including shopping, appointments, recreational activities, education, and employment.
- Encourage participants to build confidence, independence, and life skills.
- Provide companionship and meaningful social support.
- Follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies and promote positive outcomes.
- Assist with mobility and manual handling using approved equipment where required.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and communication records.
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, and safeguarding concerns promptly.
- Work collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and other service providers.
- Uphold the NDIS Code of Conduct and Bellarine Inclusion For All's policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or currently studying.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR Certificate.
- Current Victorian Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Current National Police Check.
- Smartphone with the ability to use apps for shift notes and communication.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disability, psychosocial disability, acquired brain injury, or physical disability.
- Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern.
- Medication Administration training.
- Manual Handling training.
- Bowel Care and Catheter Care training.
- Mental Health First Aid (desirable).
