PM TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Accountant to support our financial and operational activities. Due to ongoing business growth in the logistics industry, this position has become essential to maintain accurate financial reporting and compliance with Australian standards.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
- Prepare BAS, IAS, and other ATO submissions
- Maintain general ledger and accurate financial records
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Conduct bank reconciliations
- Liaising with financial institutions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Providing financial and taxation advice on business
- Prepare management reports and financial summaries
- Support internal and external audits
- Provide financial insights to management when required
- Preparing financial statements for management, directors and statutory bodies.
- Analize operating costs, income and expenses.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience
- Strong understanding of AASB standards and Australian tax compliance
- Proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Fluency in English and Spanish (preferred)
Desirable
- Experience in the logistics and distribution industry
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it)
- Experience working in Australian businesses
