We are seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to take ownership of a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, with a clear mandate to lift GMP standards, build team capability, and consistently deliver safe, high-quality product.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in driving standards, developing people, and embedding best practice across food safety, quality, and operational performance.
About the Role
As a key leader on the production floor, you will:
- Lead and coach a team to deliver consistent, high-quality output to specification
- Champion and embed Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) across all production activities
- Drive a culture of food safety, quality, hygiene, and workplace safety excellence
- Build team capability through structured training, mentoring, and accountability
- Monitor production performance, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with KPIs
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to optimise outcomes
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Capability
- Lead, coach, and develop production teams to build strong capability and ownership of standards
- Ensure all team members are trained, competent, and performance-ready
- Set clear expectations and role model behaviours aligned to company values and safety-first culture
GMP, Food Safety & Quality
- Drive adherence to GMP, HACCP, CCPs and QCPs
- Proactively identify and correct any compliance or quality risks
- Ensure all production activities meet internal and customer specifications
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and process discipline
Operational Performance
- Manage day-to-day production activities including task allocation, rotations, and workflow optimisation
- Monitor and report on production KPIs, process flow, and downtime
- Ensure accurate completion of all production records, batch documentation, and checklists
Safety & Compliance
- Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring hazards, near misses, and incidents are reported and addressed
- Ensure compliance with WHS and food hygiene regulations
What You Bring
- Proven experience as a Team Leader in food or beverage manufacturing
- Strong working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards
- Demonstrated ability to build team capability, focus on GMP, and drive accountability
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence
Desirable:
- Certificate III in Food Processing (or equivalent).
