JOB TITLE: Procurement Manager
JOB TYPE: Full Time
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are a well established supermarket located at Abbotsford. We have provided good quality fresh food and convenience over the years and are very popular among our locals.
Due to our expanding area of business, we are currently recruiting a Procurement Manager to build up the strategic partnership with our suppliers, manage the day‑to‑day execution of procurement and purchasing, and ensure reliable supply to support our continued growth.
Roles and responsibilities
On this role, you will：
- Report directly to the director of the supermarket
- Develop and implement a sustainable procurement strategy, policies, and governance frameworks
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and commercial agreements
- Take charge of end‑to‑end purchasing operations, including imports and lead‑time management
- Drive cost savings, margin improvement, and working capital efficiency
- Coordinate with other teams in our supermarket including the sales team and the finance teams
- Identify and mitigate supply chain and supplier risk
- Analyse, spend and market trends to identify value opportunities
- Envisage the long term team development plan and develop a high‑performing procurement and purchasing team
- Provide commercial advice to stakeholders
Required qualifications:
- Degree in business management, supply chain or related
- At least 7 to 10 years of work experience in similar positions (especially in the long term procurement management)
- Experience with imports, offshore suppliers, and lead‑time management
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Analytical mindset with experience in forecasting and planning
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, responsive environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- A proactive, organised, and outcomes‑focused approach
- Work experience in retail and wholesale industry could be a significant advantage
- Knowledge of import/export, logistics, international freight, and supply coordination will be a bonus
Language:
- English is required
- Mandarin is strongly preferred considering the need of internal communication
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $120,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
