Data Centre Site Technician (Shift, 4 days on, 4 days off)
Job Description Summary
The Data Centre Site Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable and continuous operation of an 18MW data centre.
Working on a rotating 4 days on / 4 days off shift, the role supports critical infrastructure, ensuring high availability, compliance and operational excellence at all times.
Job Description

Monitor and operate critical infrastructure including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generators, fire systems and BMS.

Perform routine inspections, readings and preventative maintenance activities.

Respond to alarms, faults and incidents, ensuring safe resolution and escalation where required.

Undertake and supervise planned and reactive activities utilizing the CMMS platform.

Maintain the site asset database, provide updates in accordance with CMMS requirements.

Support and supervise contractors and vendors on-site in line with safety and compliance standards.

Execute approved change management and planned maintenance activities.

Maintain accurate shift logs, handovers, incident reports and documentation.

Ensure strict adherence to HSE, security and site operational procedures.

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards.

Ensure all safety procedures, including Crisis Management/ Business Continuity and Emergency Procedures are maintained at all times.

Ensure that maintenance documentation meets the required standards and sufficient information is provided to operate an effective asset management regiment.

Participate in site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence and operational risk.

Australian work rights required

Trade, technical or engineering qualification (electrical, mechanical or related) preferred

Proven experience in a data centre or critical environment is required

Practical knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems in a 24/7 setting.

Experience with BMS, DCIM or similar monitoring systems.

Good understanding of Data Centre resiliency, and Uptime tier ratings

Strong incident response, change control and problem-solving capability.

Ability to work independently on shift with a strong safety-first mindset.

Data centre or critical environment certifications desirable
