We’re looking for an experienced barista to join our small, well-run neighbourhood café in Balgowlah Heights on Sundays
This role suits someone who is confident on coffee, calm under pressure, and takes pride in consistency and quality,
About the role
- Casual position
- around 8am until 230pm
- Independent café with a strong regular customer base
You’ll be responsible for running the coffee station during service, maintaining quality through rush periods, and working smoothly with a small team.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a good fit if you:
- Have solid barista experience in a busy café
- Can dial in, adjust grind, and manage volume
- Work cleanly and efficiently during peak periods
- Are reliable, punctual, and take ownership of your station
- Are comfortable working independently when required
- Have good communication and a team-first attitude
- Experienced and confident with Latte art
This is not a trainee role.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing espresso-based coffee to a consistent standard
- Managing milk workflow and service speed during peak periods
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station
- Assisting with opening / closing duties as required
- Supporting the wider team during service
Pay & conditions
- Paid under the Restaurant Industry Award
- Casual rates based on experience (Level 0–3)
- Weekend and other penalty rates apply
- Staff meals and coffee on shift with an unpaid break of 30min for shifts 5hours+
