About the Role
Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park, based in Scoresby, is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Casual - Kitchen Steward to join our team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency of our busy kitchen operations. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment and contribute to the continued success of our renowned hotel.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating commercial dishwashers and industrial cleaning equipment
- Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas, benches, and storage spaces
- Ensuring garbage is removed promptly and equipment is correctly stored
- Preparing equipment required for functions (BBQs, chafing dishes, plates, etc.)
- Assisting chefs with general kitchen duties as required
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures, food safety standards, and safe work practices
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment (essential)
- Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including AM/PM shifts and Public Holidays
- Reliable own transportation is required, as the hotel is not accessible via public transport
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety standards and safe work practices
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their correct and safe handling
